Hey there!

I had some random excitement last week.  As you can tell from the title of my blog post, one of my designs made it on The Today Show!

I got an email from designer Frank Fontana asking me if he could use some of my pictures on The Today Show.  I was thinking... why is that name familiar?  what the heck, is this spam?

Because if you have a blog, you know you get a lot of weird spam.

I googled him and realized that Frank Fontana used to host HGTV's Design on a Dime and Takeover My Makeover.  He has a design book and a radio show on a major station in Chicago.  He does spots on the Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb section of The Today Show every so often too.  He has his own line of window treatments and a long list of other design accomplishments.

Holy cow!  That's why his name was familiar.  He is a legit designer that was on HGTV!

Frank was going on The Today Show to talk about wall treatments.  He was doing a tutorial of the tissue paper "leather-look" wall treatment that I have in my powder room.

Wait, what?

Ummmmm YES, of course you can use my pictures on LIVE NATIONAL TV!

My bathroom finally got it's 15 minutes of fame.

Click here to watch the clip with my bathroom in it!

You see that big flower behind Kathie Lee and Frank Fontana??  That is MY bathroom!!!!  It is famous!

So for a small fee, I will have my bathroom autograph a piece of toilet paper for you.  You can thank me later.

Anyway, if you want to see the clip you can watch it here.  My pics are at the 1:40, 2:40 mark and the big flower behind them that I mentioned above.   The even put a photo credit on it, Chic on a Shoestring Decorating by Kate which doesn't get much screen time but at least it made it up there.

Kind of silly but pretty darn exciting for a little blogger/interior decorator like me.

My mom was so excited you would've thought that I was making an appearance.  She called all of our family and all of her friends and told them to watch for my bathroom on TV. :)

It's funny, I've been planning to change the walls in there for quite a while but just haven't gotten around to it.  Don't tell Kathie Lee and Hoda!
